While many people want straighter, more beautiful teeth, few want to go through the uncomfortable and aesthetically unappealing process of braces. Invisalign provides patients with an alternative to traditional braces, giving them the results they want in a more discrete way.
Invisalign is a removable acrylic aligner that is virtually invisible. No more feeling self-conscious smiling in photographs or limiting the foods you eat to prevent them from getting caught in the appliance. Simply remove the aligner when you want to take a picture, eat a meal, or floss and brush your teeth.
The first step to Invisalign is to determine whether you are a good candidate for the aligner. We will use 3D imaging to visualize both your current teeth as well as obtain an image of your teeth after the treatment so that we can make a well-informed decision to either go forward with the Invisalign method or find another solution.
Each aligner created for your teeth will be worn for about a two week period, after which a new aligner will take its place and so on. This will gradually shift the teeth closer and closer to their desired location. We will most likely want to see you every six weeks or so to make sure that the aligners are working as planned. All in all, you can expect the treatment to last about a year although this will vary from person to person.
